THE ERPF GALLERY was established in 1974 to promote the art, folklife and history of the Catskill region. Since 1980, the Erpf Gallery and The Catskill Center have been housed together in the Erpf House in Arkville, New York. In 1993, thanks to the generosity of Sue Erpf Van de Bovenkamp and the Armand G. Erpf Fund, the two organizations combined efforts, and the Erpf Gallery became.
Five annual exhibitions of paintings, photography, sculptures, installations, and craft represent artists whose awareness of nature is translated into fine pieces of artwork. The gallery also promotes the appreciation of the diverse and rich cultural heritage of the Catskills. It actively engages in historical exhibits and networking with other organizations in such projects as "Trout Encounters: Fly Fishing in the Catskills" and "Up and Down: The History of the Ulster & Delaware Railroad." Lectures and educational workshops accompany these events.
